No. Even though Emma Lou’s uses the absolute best quality animal protein with no added hormones, we don’t believe that animal protein should ever be fed raw. Produce even if certified organic can never compare to the quality of meat of the animal a canine would naturally catch in the wild. However, a lot of our veggies in our recipes are steam cooked such as our green beans, broccoli, etc. We also include completely raw ingredients such as flax seed powder, parsley and apple, etc.

Which Formula is best for my dog?
When you call or email us we will ask you a series of questions. We will tell you what we recommend based on breed, weight and any health issues or allergies your dog might have.

I cook chicken and rice for my dog, isn't that enough?
No. While cooked chicken and rice is better for them than commercial dog food, it is not a balanced diet. Our food meets and exceeds the AAFCO nutritional profile for dogs which is essential to their health.

Kristen Zang, head chef and Servsafe certified food handler and her trusted team of cooks who are also Servsafe certified food handlers.
My dog has weight issues, can your food help?
Yes. Our food, unlike a lot of commercial dog food, has an exact caloric count which means you can monitor your dogs caloric intake exactly.
Why is there a minimum amount for ordering?
Because we ship with dry ice and the expense of shipping in insulated boxes, our minimum amount per order is $120.

Is your food made in an USDA inspected kitchen?
Yes. Our kitchen facility is owned by us and is where we exclusively prepare all of our formulas. We don't use co-packers. Everything we make is from scratch in our own kitchen. With love, of course!
Is your packaging BPA free?
Yes, all of our packaging is BPA-free and FDA approved.
How many cups in each packet?
There are two cups of food in each 16 ounce packet.

When will I recieve my order?
All orders leave our kitchen on Mondays as long as they’re placed by the
Sunday before by 6pm. If received after 6pm they will go out the following Monday.
You will receive a tracking number on Monday with an estimated arrival date of your order. Feel free to email us with any questions or concerns.

We ship within the contiguous U.S.
How does the food arrive and what should I do with it?
When your food arrives it will be frozen and all the dry ice should be gone. When it arrives, put most of the food in your freezer and put the ones that you will be using in the refrigerator to start the thawing process.There is directions on the back of each packet as well as directions in your first order with directions.
What is your refund policy?
All sales are final and we cannot accept food to be shipped back to us. If there is something wrong with your order, please take photos and email them to us along with an explanation of the issue at info@emmalouskitchen.com asap
The food was a little defrosted or thawed when it arrived, is it safe for my dog to eat?
Our insulated coolers keep the temperature inside below 40 degrees at all times so even if the part of the packet is starting to defrost, it will still be held at cold temperatures thus ensuring that the food is not growing any bacteria. Food is also safe to refreeze, so they can be safely refrozen.
Please note: If your delivery is many days delayed past the delivery date, check the inside of the cooler box to be sure its cold. If it isn't, please contact us immediately at info@emmalouskitchen.com
